Training, a simple explanation

Like anything we plan to be successful in, it takes hard work. With training for a sport, especially endurance sports, it's the same thing. Hours of practice must be put in in order to get the results you seek. There are smart ways to go about training, and stupid ways. I've tried both, and unfortunately learned the hard way.

The aim of this blog is to help guide athletes in the sport of running primarily, and triathlon second to that. Running, biking, and swimming are all great sports, but like i said it takes hard work to become competitive.

We'll talk about things many athletes have concerns about, and we'll discuss solutions. Like many serious athletes, i've read dozens of books, articles, webpages trying to figure out the best approaches to endurance sports. It's clear to me now, after trying many of the methods i read about what works and doesn't work.

With running, the most fundamental thing i learned was that a bigger base equals a bigger potential for success.
